Dive No. 1028 - Little Munsom - Saturday March 27th - Water 15C - Air 15C - Entry time 19:30
It has been a long time since I made a note in my logbook last November. Last night Alison, Blair and me went on a night dive at Little Munsom. The dive started at 19:30 when it was just dark and when we came out some 40 minutes later we saw the moon and stars above us. For Blair who comleted his NAUI Advanced Scuba Diver course with this dive and Alison (who is Padi Advanced certified and did not do a night dive during her advanced course) it was the first time to go on a dive after dark. Under water there wasn`t any current and the kelp plants were standing straight in the water which makes them appear like a forest of bamboo. A very unique feeling to glide through them in the dark. We spotted 3 sleeping lionfish, a few mini-cuttlefish that changed colors from almost transparent to bright red within a second, sleeping boxfish, beautiful sea urchins with long black and blueish spines, hermit crabs, sleeping porcupine fish and sea hare. Both my divers did a good job on their first night dive and said that they enjoyed the experince a lot. I have good reason to believe them. Safe diving Ralf |
