|Dive No. 869 - Saturday July 26th - Little Munsom - water 25C - air 30C - visibility 20m - sunny
I had a wonderful dive with Holger from Hamburg, Germany and his friend Hyun-Kyung from Pusan. Holger is a PADI instructor who has worked in Phuket, Thailand for the last 6 months. Like most people he was surprised by Jeju`s underwater world and found a number of species that he had never seen before. The water temperature has raised 6 degrees over night. On Friday we messured 19 Celsius and today the computer never dropped below 25 Celsius, only below 20 meters it became colder. Also the visibility changed from about 8 to 20 meters overnight.
I saw a school of big surgeonfish, all were 50cm+ long. They were shy but whenever I waited in one spot they always came back to check out what is going on. I spotted a Giant Grouper (epinephelus lanceolatus) it was about 80 cm long and Thorsten reported to have seen it near there a few times already.
The colors in the clear water, the sunlight and the relaxed mood of this dive made it very special to me. When we came out and I looked on my computer I realized that we had been in there for 75 minutes. Munsom is a great dive spot! Thanks to Holger and Hyun-Kyung for good company on a wonderful dive. I enjoyed it.
